Rehabilitation for carers and caregiving relatives

If you work and at the same time support or even care for a loved one on a daily basis, this can be very stressful for your body and mind. Supporting the person in need of care, your work and your social life are often difficult to reconcile.

At the Bad Schallerbach Rehabilitation Center of the pension insurance institution, you can take advantage of the 4-week coordinated RehaJET® program. This is a pilot project that has so far only been implemented in this facility. It is designed to support you in participating in professional and social life in the long term despite your care or nursing activities. You can take advantage of the offer alone or with the person in need of care, provided that certain admission criteria are met. The rehabilitation center will provide care and support while you follow your individually tailored therapy plan.

The following points apply as admission criteria for family caregivers:

• You must be insured with the pension insurance institution
• the person requiring care must receive care allowance
• The so-called Home Care Scale is used to measure how stressful the care and nursing of the person in need of care is for you. A medium to heavy burden is a prerequisite for admission.

If the person in need of care cannot be cared for at home during their rehabilitation, the rehabilitation center will take over their care and support.

However, no care allowance is paid for the period of rehabilitation.
