For this reason, they list contact points and services that, according to the Ministry’s information, can provide targeted assistance. These lists are not guaranteed to be accurate or complete. In order to receive appropriate support in the event of a disability, please contact the social services department in your federal province and the Sozialministeriumservice.
In the relevant federal provisions such as the Federal Disability Act, the Disability Employment Act and the Federal Disability Equality Act, disability is defined as the effect of a non-temporary physical, mental or psychological impairment, or an impairment of sensory functions. An impairment lasting more than six months is considered not merely temporary.
People with disabilities, and those close to them, often face challenges and difficulties in everyday life. Finding solutions can be difficult given the variety of responsibilities, contact points and support services involved.
