Reimbursement of costs for aids

Children and young people with disabilities can be reimbursed for the cost of aids they need. An example of such an aid is a wheelchair. The reimbursement is provided by your child's health insurance. A deductible is usually required. However, this can often be covered by the office of your provincial government or the regional office of the Sozialministeriumservice. When applying for reimbursement of costs, please also include the invoice or cost estimate for the aid and the doctor's prescription. You must also enclose proof of income for all persons living in the same household.

You can submit the application to your child's health insurance provider. Under certain conditions, the state government of your federal state or the state office of the Sozialministeriumservice will cover the remaining costs.
