Visiting and assistance services bring variety into the everyday lives of elderly, lonely people or those in need of care. They also take on various tasks.
A visiting service takes care of the social and psychological needs of older, often single people. Visiting service staff come to your home at set times to spend time with you. They listen, talk, take their time and provide company. Playing games together, singing, memory and coordination exercises help you to train and maintain your mental abilities.
Visiting services also provide support with smaller everyday tasks and accompany you on walks and joint activities.
If you find it difficult to go to the doctor or run errands on your own, an assistance service can help you. If you are no longer able to leave your own four walls even when accompanied, the companion service will take care of certain tasks for you.
For example, the caregivers can take care of trips to the bank, errands at the pharmacy and even shopping for you.
The funding for visiting and companionship services varies from state to state. Some services are also free of charge. In Vienna, the Vienna Social Fund (FWS) provides funding. Ask at the care department in your province.
Visiting and assistance services are organized regionally by different providers. Please note that the offers are not exhaustive.
