The pflege.gv.at information platform is aimed at all people affected by issues around nursing and care in Austria and their relatives.

At pflege.gv.at you can find out about offers and services relating to care and support. In addition to information valid throughout Austria, you will also find offers and information relating to your federal state.

Under the menu item "Care guide" you will find the main funding options that apply throughout Austria. In addition, information on subsidies from the federal provinces is provided. In addition, special subsidies for people with dementia are also listed under the "Advice and help" menu item.

Assistive devices and medical aids include incontinence products, bandages, hearing aids, glasses, prostheses, inhalation devices, rollators, wheelchairs, hospital beds and much more.

To obtain assistive devices and medical aids, visit your family doctor. They will give you a doctor's prescription if required. Your health insurance will cover the costs or a proportion of the costs. If you borrow a product, the loan fee will be covered. For some items, prior approval must be obtained from the health insurance company.

Under the menu item "Advice and help" you will find telephone advice services and helpful links at both federal and provincial level. These are available under "Counseling services throughout Austria" and "Advice centers in the state“ available.

The menu item "Advice and help" also contains a detailed description of the pilot project "Community Nursing". Community nurses are qualified healthcare and nursing staff who are your local contact persons for all matters relating to care and health.

The information service of the Ministry of Social Affairs provides an overview of nursing and care services. Here you can choose from over 5,000 social facilities nationwide.

There are also special services for people with dementia and people at the end of life. Information on this can be found under the menu item "Advice and  help".

Questions about specific nursing and care services cannot be answered via this e-mail address. Please click on the menu item "Counseling services" to contact advice centres in your federal province by telephone or e-mail.
