Meal delivery services
If you are no longer able to carry out activities such as shopping and cooking on your own, you can have meals delivered. These services, known as “Essen auf Rädern” ("Meals on Wheels"), are aimed at elderly, sick or care-dependent people. They provide fresh, hot meals delivered to your home every day.
Funding for meal delivery services
In most federal states, financial support is available for the delivery of meals. This depends on the care allowance level. Either the receipt of care allowance or an assessment of need for meals on wheels is a prerequisite for delivery. Ask the social services department in your province.
However, the services and prices vary depending on the provider and region.
