Hourly care provided by mobile nursing and care services is often not enough. Some people in need of care require support throughout the day and night. Moving into a nursing and care home may not be an option – many people in need of care prefer to stay at home, in their familiar surroundings. Financing long-term care and support is a challenge. This is why the federal government offers fundings for 24-hour care.
The monthly funding amounts to 800 euros for two self-employed caregivers who work under a contract for work and services. For two employed caregivers, a maximum of 1,600 euros per month is funded.
The requirements for this type of support are that the person in need of care
Certain benefits – such as care allowance, special payments, family allowance, childcare allowance, and housing benefits – are excluded from the calculation of net income.
