The Austrian National Public Health Institute (Gesundheit Österreich GmbH, GÖG) is the institution responsible for researching and planning public healthcare in Austria, and also acts as the national competence and funding centre for the promotion of health. Set up by federal law on 1 August 2006, GÖG has the federal government as its sole shareholder, represented by the Ministry of Health. It is a public non-profit limited liability company fully owned by the Republic of Austria and is organised in three business units: the Austrian Federal Institute of Public Health (ÖBIG), the Federal Institute for Quality in Health Care (BIQG) and the Healthy Austria Fund (FGÖ). The GÖG works equidistantly, is active in a networking and coordinating capacity and is involved in key decision-making processes. Integrative, cross-sectoral and cross-professional approaches and perspectives characterize its projects, plans and work priorities.
Basic direction of the website: pflege.gv.at provides information about care and support in Austria. The information platform is aimed in particular at people who need care themselves or at family members who provide care. The information platform has several expansion stages.
