Young Carers
The term "Young Carers" refers to children and young people who provide care for a relative. In Austria, around 42,000 caring children and young people under the age of 18, most of them girls, take on above-average caring responsibilities for sick family members.
They help with household tasks, look after younger siblings, take on care duties, and carry a significant amount of responsibility. The app "Young Carers Austria" is designed for children and young people and offers them support for managing everyday life.
