Across Austria, there are various forms of support for people who are temporarily or permanently restricted in their mobility. Travel and transportation to medical appointments or therapies are financially supported by health insurance providers. For more information on reimbursement of travel and transport costs, visit the respective websites of the ÖGK, BVAEB, or SVS.
There are various subsidies available for people with disabilities who are restricted in their mobility: For example, you may be eligible for financial support to help cover the cost of an assistance dog, a driving license or a vehicle. If it cannot reasonable be expected to use public transport or other specific needs arise, additional funding options may also be available.

Note: Many subsidies are based on the Disability Identity Card. This is an ID card for people with mobility impairments and grant access to various benefits.
