The Social Ministry Service, with its nine regional offices in the provincial capitals, is the federal government's central point of contact for people with disabilities. It is also available as a point of contact for their relatives and for companies that already employ people with disabilities or would like to employ them in the future. The central task of the Social Ministry Service is to promote the professional participation of people with disabilities. The focus here is on obtaining employment opportunities for these people. This task is accomplished in collaboration with cooperation partners in the federal states, such as the Public Employment Service, the federal states and private organizations.
The contact details of the regional offices of the Social Ministry Service can be found on the following page:
The affairs of people with disabilities affect different areas of life in Austria. Therefore, in addition to the special responsibilities of the federal government and the social insurance institutions, the federal states should also be mentioned here. Their aim is to help people with disabilities to live as independently as possible in the community. The "disability assistance" measures are implemented by the provincial governments and district authorities or municipal authorities, where the benefits must also be applied for. The individual provincial laws differ considerably in some cases. Further information can be obtained from the contact persons in the social departments of the federal states:
