Often, the hourly care provided by mobile nursing and care services is not enough.
The person in need of care requires support all day and also at night. A nursing and care home is not an option. The person in need of care wants to stay at home, in their familiar surroundings. Financing long-term care and support is a challenge. This is why the federal government offers fundings for 24-hour care.
The amount of the funding is 800 Euros per month for two self-employed caregivers who are employed under a contract for work and services. For two employed caregivers a maximum of 1,600 Euros per month is funded.

Benefits such as care allowance, special payments, family allowance, childcare allowance and housing benefits do not count towards net income.
